Fill Zimbabwe with music!

As everywhere in the world Brass Bands are an important part of the Salvation Army in Zimbabwe too. There too lots of people are attracted by the bands and people from many different backgrounds can unify and play music together, which gives them a good compensation to the difficult lives they live.

In the Salvation Army in Zimbabwe you hear the same tunes as in lots of other countries too. Of course the rhythms are a bit more complex and some of the sounds can be a bit unusual. But there too - or maybe especially there too the music comes from the heart.

The difficulty of the bandsmen in Zimbabwe is that there are far too few instruments available. In many bands two, three or more musicians share the instruments. During a rehersal or a performance they share instruments. This is why SwiZimAid is collecting second hand Brass Band instruments for Zimbabwe. If you do not posess an instrument you can contribute too. The transport of these instruments with a container costs about 15'000 Swiss Francs. Contributions to the account (see contact details) are always welcome.

Let us help to fill Zimbabwe with music and enable the people there to find motivation in a day full of worries and difficulties.
