A challenge to help...

It is difficult to survive in Zimbabwe:

  • 95% unemployment
  • 90% live in poverty
  • 25% have Aids 
  • average age: 37 years

The Salvation Army however is thriving:

  • over 120'000 members
  • nearly 600 full time employees
  • over 400 communities
  • 3 hospitals
  • 7 social institutions
  • over 100 schools

With SwiZimAid we would like to make use of the Salvation Army structures and provide help.

Clothes collection 2012

In 2012 too we would like to collect clothes for Africa in Zurich, Ankerstrasse 31. These clothes will be sent to Chikankata, Zambia in the next container in January 2012.

Zimbabwe trip 2012/1

In August 2012 a team of young people from Switzerland will visit Masiye Camp (http://www.masiye.com/) for three weeks where they will help to lead a camp for orphan kids (who lost their parents due to AIDS).

Zimbabwe trip 2012/2

In the autumn of 2012 a trip to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi will be organised where different SwiZimAid projects will be visited, for example Chikankata in Zambia, where our next container will be sent to.

SwiZimAid trip 2011

In July/August a group from Switzerland toured Zimbabwe and Zambia on a SwiZimaid trip.

Zimbabwe Territorial Music Camp

Im Jahr 2010 nahm eine Gruppe aus der Schweiz am Territorial Music Camp in Mazowe High School teil.
